Blakes Coffee House, Newcastle

Blakes, Newcastle Although not particularly "cosy", Blakes is a treasure trove of coffees from around the world and is highly recommended.

It's like a rustic American bar, but alcohol-free. Coffee is the order of the day; the closest thing you'll get to a stiff drink is one of the stronger international grinds.

It's a bustling place which also has a large choice of light bites.

When out and about in central Newcastle, Blakes is a perfect spot to rest heavy shopping bags and take in a pick-me-up. It's a caffeine oasis which has found a niche.

I'd love to see more places like this..... in place of generic city centre pubs perhaps?
