The Apple Pie is a smashing place in the heart of the Lake District.
It is a colourful, cosy and friendly café which does a roaring trade. Surely no passer-by can resist the cheery facade.
There are a few different places to sit, including an outdoor area.

It is perhaps less of a coffee shop and more about the food, particularly from the well stocked bakery. So best avoid lunchtime if you just fancy a hot drink. At other times, it’s just right for a relaxing cappuccino, and make sure you try the eponymous apple pie as well.
The prices are a little steep, but no more than one might expect in a tourist town like Ambleside.

A perfect place to start a day in the stunning Lakes.
