Planet Coffee, Hull

Planet Coffee, Hull Planet Coffee is a big, brash coffee shop in Hull.

It may be large but there are plenty of quiet corners. There are also plenty of sofas and, best of all, a small room upstairs filled only with bean bags. Great for children and, for that matter, anyone else capable of bending knees.

Apart from the beanbag zone, there is not much personality or charm. It feels like a chain, although it is (I understand) entirely independent. Even the service is Starbucks-style: order at the counter and wait in line for your coffee to appear.

On the upside, the range of coffee is substantial. It's a good place for hiding away and can accommodate groups, couples, lonely independent coffee sippers, and students (it's at the University end of Newland Ave).

Excellent coffee shop. Love the new upstairs, called "Scarlet Lounge". Almost like an old fashioned cigar lounge!! The new chairs are amazing!!

Coffee always good. Great staff, always trying to help. Even remember my order, when I may have missed a week going into Planet!
I always tell my friends and family to go there..... the best around by far.

I have alway found the staff to be polite helpful and efficient I cannot believe amy n kate are going to the same shop. all the staff always have a smile on their face and serve fantastic coffee and cake. I go in on weekends and during the week and will continue to do so cos the atmosphere is fab - as for people sitting near you - its a coffee shop for gods sake of course people will sit near you, if you dont like people near you - stay in !!!! Planet Coffee ROCKS x

amy :

amazing selection of coffee but i agree that sometimes the staff can be a little rude and it is difficult to accomodate for couples upstairs as people often just sit right up close to you with can be a little uncomfortable! x
