Mr Moo's, Skipsea
|
For a haven of indulgence by the coast, I recommend Mr Moo's Ice Cream Parlour and Coffee Shop. No cows died in the making of these sundaes. |
This large outbuilding on Southfield House Farm has generous seating inside and out. It's a bustling place but usually there's space to sit with just a nice coffee in hand.

Of course, it is ice cream that is the real attraction. They make it on the farm, using milk from their own herd of Fresians, and it tastes absolutely delicious. The range of sundaes and flavours is a sight to behold; just two examples are "cow-pat" and "black forest moo".

There are also plenty of tasty-looking cakes available, and various other food and drink options. Not to mention a raft of cow-related goodies for sale.

Mr Moo's is a favourite for everyone from families to bikers. If you're in the Skipsea area and in need of a coffee (and an ice cream), it shouldn't be missed.

Welcome to Cosy Coffee Shops, a blog dedicated to seeking out terrific independent coffee houses. Some are particularly comfy and relaxing, some serve outstanding coffee, some have both. Most serve drinks that are ethically sourced (for example, Fairtrade). We've visited everywhere at least once. Read more about this blog...

In these times when everybody seems to be feeling glum as a result of the economic climate not to mention the weather it was a joy to visit Mr Moo's for friendly service, smiles and yummy cow pat Ice cream and homemade cakes! Beautiful setting , good service and if you walk along the beach afterwards you can justify another icecream on the return leg..well that was my excuse anyway!
l have just found your site and have enjoyed reading about the many cafes.
My wife and l have been visiting Mr Moo's since it opened and have always enjoyed a good friendly service and would not hesitate in recommending the place. From our experience the cafe does get very busy during the summers months but the staff still manage to smile and the sundaes are still as good despite being so busy.
If you intend to visit this ice cream parlor be prepared for some lovely ice cream with an enormous dollop of bad customer service........
FROM COSY COFFEE SHOPS: This is the first sentence of a lengthy diatribe. I have taken a decision not to post the remainder, but rest assured Nicola was not a happy bunny.
