Cello Coffee House, Sheffield

Cello Coffee House, Sheffield

Nestled amongst Sheffield's southern suburbs is this really good independent café.

Cello Coffee House opened relatively recently (2007) and has been recommended by readers.  I visited on my way elsewhere (I was off to see my sister; it was her birthday) and for reasons relating to car boot sales and a kitchen cabinet I was running a bit late.

So I couldn't stay too long, but my relatively brief stop was more than enough to enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere.

It's a cheery place, well decorated, and, although not large, plenty of comfy seats have been sneaked in, including a sofa or two.  There is a good amount of coffee options and coffee is top of the menu (and there is food, as you might expect). Try the tables outside on sunny days.

Liz Austin, the owner, was kind enough to pop over to our sofa and say hello.  She's very friendly and evidently takes a great deal of pride in her coffee house.  She also makes a darn good brew.  Liz offered to make us a few of her speciality coffees, but (disappointingly) we couldn't stick around.  I'd love to return and give them a try.

I believe, appropriately, Liz has a musical background.

It's a really nice, friendly, down-to-earth place, and highly recommended.
