Top Notch for Coffee

6/8 Kafé, Birmingham

My quest to unearth the best independent coffee shops has, at last, taken me back to Birmingham, a fine city under-represented in Cosy Coffee Shops. 6/8 (or Six Eight) Kafé was my first stop.

Laynes Espresso, Leeds

Laynes is a newbie in Leeds, a city which deserves (and now has) another brilliant coffee shop.

Dose Espresso, Long Lane, London

A stalwart of London coffee houses is Dose. In typically timely fashion, I visit just before its move to new premises.

Prufrock Coffee, Leather Lane, London

A beacon of coffee gorgeousness on little Leather Lane is Prufrock, a new offering on London’s coffee tour.

Taylor St Baristas, London

Taylor St Baristas (not on Taylor St) has been around for years. It now has six branches, so it only just merits a place on this blog about indie coffee shops.

The Window Coffee, Norwich

The Window may be the smallest coffee shop in the world, but it’s a mug-and-a-half full of joy.

The Perky Peacock, York

On a cold winter’s day I visited The Perky Peacock, a relatively new – and brilliant – addition to the York cafe scene.
