About Cosy Coffee Shops

Since 2006 Cosy Coffee Shops has been dedicated to finding the best speciality coffee shops in the UK, and occasionally beyond.

From a fruity ristretto to a silky flat white, we love our coffee, but that’s not all Cosy Coffee Shops is about. Just as important is atmosphere, charm and excellent customer service. Some kind of unique edge is always a bonus.

We’re not geeky or snobby (or any other dwarf). Cosy Coffee Shops has always been as much for the uninitiated as for die-hard caffeine junkies. If you don’t know your Aeropress from your V60, you’re still very welcome here.

We’re humbled to know how many people visit the site, and we’ve even heard of a number of national coffee shop crawls based on our recommendations. It’s why we love blogging and we appreciate every one of our readers.

About us

Tom Hiskey (Mr Cosy) has been blogging about coffee for around ten years. He has visited amazing coffee shops all over the world. It is sometimes assumed that Tom is a quaint, 50-year-old bearded man. In fact, Tom is in his early 30s and is a user experience specialist. Though he is slightly bearded.

Abi Hiskey (Mrs Cosy) is the talented one. For example, see her well fit latte art below. She is formerly a barista at popular artisan coffee shop The Perky Peacock in York, now a freelance illustrator.

[accordion-item title=”Have you visited the coffee shops listed?”]Yes, we’ve visited every one. We never accept guest reviews.[/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”Are you paid by the coffee shops to be listed?”]Nope, we’ve never been paid by a coffee shop. We’re impartial and not in it for the money. However, the site can only keep running because of the advertisers we work with. [/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”How do you choose which coffee shops to visit?”]Through readers’ recommendations, our own research and word of mouth.[/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”Do you include every coffee shop you visit?”]No – sometimes they’re not up to scratch. [/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”Do you do this full time?”]Er, no… sadly not. But we love it.[/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”When did Cosy Coffee Shops start?”]We’ve been going since 2006, visited over 150 coffee shops, had around a-million-and-a-half hits and been featured by the BBC and the Telegraph, among others. [/accordion-item]

[accordion-item title=”Can I advertise on Cosy Coffee Shops?”]Yes! Find out more. [/accordion-item]
